Fernweh is a German word with no exact translation, a feeling, the opposite of homesickness. The cure for Fernweh is to travel. A sensation that has been part of our family for generations, a desire to explore new places, see new ways of life and expand our perception of the world. When not travelling, we dream of the far-off place we will journey to next.

My Grandmother, born and raised in Vancouver, answered her calling as a Travel Advisor. The profession was fitting. My mother, Wendy Jimenez, followed in her mother's footsteps.

Growing up in a family of career travellers, I had the opportunity to travel and experience top luxury hotels and small-ship cruise lines from a young age. I decided to join my mother in 2010 as a travel advisor, and in 2014, we opened Fernweh Travel.

Fernweh Luxury Travel (as we go by today) is one of Canada's Top Travel Management Companies. Each of our Travel Advisors and Fernweh Luxury Travel believes 5-star service is a way of life. We take care of our clients as we would our family. We are happy to cure your Fernweh.

How to Book:

1. View our Travel Experts Team or fill out a booking request form, and we will match you with the best Luxury Travel Advisor for your travel needs.

2. A Luxury Travel Advisor will contact you to schedule your complimentary consultation. 

3. During your complimentary consultation, you and your Travel Advisor will discuss your travel needs, dates, budget, and must-haves for your perfect vacation.

4. Your Fernweh Luxury Travel Advisor will consult with our industry partners in your desired destination to create an itinerary proposal within your requested budget.

5. Upon receiving your proposed itinerary, you may ask your Advisor to make additional requests and adjustments. Once your itinerary proposal reflects your ideal vacation, your Advisor will ask if you would like to proceed with the booking. Details such as booking and deposit requirements vary and will be in your final itinerary.

  • Yes. Fernweh Luxury Travel Experts do charge a fee for bookings travel. The cost per booking ranges depending on the complexity of the requested travel itinerary. Your Advisor will assess your travel requirements and quote each booking request. Customized travel fees usually range from $250 - $500 for a 7 - 10 day itinerary. There is a lower fee structure for booking shorter stays or single products such as airline tickets, hotel only, and insurance bookings.

  • Yes. Our Advisors' have specialties such as group travel, weddings, wellness, luxury hotels, corporate, airline ticketing, and many more. Our Advisors collaborate to curate the best experience for their clients. You can visit our Travel Experts Page or contact us to match you with the appropriate agent.

  • Fernweh Luxury Travel accepts all major credit cards, transfers, or money wires. However, in many cases, the supplier will be collecting the funds directly. For example, an Air Canada ticket would show as an Air Canada purchase. Most suppliers accept major credit cards and money wires. Your advisor will provide these details along with your travel proposal.

  • With every booking, we ensure our clients receive the best treatment possible. We offer special perks such as complimentary breakfast, exclusive complimentary shore excursions, upgrades, and more! Additional offers may be included from Virtuoso or Preferred Partner luxury hotels.
